Apples are known to keep the doctor away, but how?
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, apples contain antioxidants that protect the cardiovascular system.
Leave the peel on. Their peels are excellent sources of dietary fiber and almost half the vitamin C is just beneath the peel.
Apples are low in calories at fewer than 100 per serving. They can be added to salad or eaten raw either whole or sliced. Use lemon juice to help prevent browning of cut apples.
