Happy Birthday! Lovey Montemurro.
People always ask how the store got its name. Our namesake
Lovey Montemurro was the mother of Marie Montemurro (who along with Karen Stewart) is one of the two owners of Lovey’s Natural Foods & Café.
Lovey ran a local restaurant in Warwick New York. The smell of muffins and chicken soup (the same recipe we use here at the store) wafted out the door to pull you inside.

I walked into Lovey's bakery. The scones were great as always, a family recipe. But Lovey Montemurro made this place work by the force of her personality. From Day One, she treated her customers as one said, ``like Warwick was her family.''
If there was a fund-raiser, Lovey sent food. If she knew someone was without, she saw that they had something to eat. She helped organize the Applefest, Warwick's annual festival. She contributed to the community center.
So that is just the kind of atmosphere that Marie & Karen work to create here at Lovey’s Natural Foods & Café. In honor of the warm & caring spirit of Lovey Montemurro we here at Lovey’s want you to feel like part of the family. If Lovey were alive today I know that she would feel right at home here at Lovey’s Natural Foods & Café. We hope you do too!
